Maria is an architectural designer with 10 years of professional experience. She has been involved in the design of a variety of projects for new and renovated commercial office and mixed-use projects, educational buildings, as well as master planning for new and revitalized communities in the United States and Asia. While a part of Kohn Pedersen Fox’ New York office, Maria worked on the complete renovation of the main lobby of Viacom Headquarters in Times Square, as well as the Hyundai Amco Tower in Seoul, Korea.

Maria has experience developing creative solutions and details to confront challenges of updating an existing space, producing comprehensive construction document sets and working closely with the client, consultants and contractors to ensure the fidelity of the final product to the design intent. Maria has also had the opportunity to provide technical expertise in the preparation of architectural drawings.

Since joining Shinberg Levinas, Maria has worked on the design of Carlos Rosario International PCS - Sonia Gutierrez Campus in Washington, DC; as well as interior detailing for a series of residential and sacred projects, including Woods Residence and the sanctuary of Kol Shalom. Most specifically, Maria was responsible for the design of the furniture and millwork in the sanctuary, including the Torah holder, Torah reading table, and tallit holder.

Maria worked as Project Architect on the new construction of Mathewson Residence in Washington, DC. She is currently working with Salo Levinas on the design of the Center for Jewish Living in Olney, MD, feasibility study and modernization of Carlos Rosario Harvard Street Campus, the historic renovation and addition of Congregation Beth Ahabah’s campus in Richmond, VA, and the new construction of Congregation Anshe Hesed‘s temple in Erie, PA.

Maria received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University in 2006 and studied architecture in Italy.
